You should see the new EU organic logo appearing on food labels as it becomes compulsory from today!This symbol was picked as the favourite by public vote last year, with 63% of voters (125,000 people) choosing this stars and leaf symbol over the other two options.The spokesperson for the European farming group Copa-Cogeca said: “The new logo is very different from other quality logos and therefore will avoid consumer confusion.”The promotion campaign will be an excellent opportunity to let consumers know about this type of production and to contribute to the development of the organic sector in the EU.”The organic logo will not be present on Green People’s organic skin care products however, as we are not allowed to use it!Cosmetics are excluded under the EU directive which is bringing in this logo so the new compulsory logo cannot be used on these products.
